America’s R’Bonney Gabriel has been chosen as Miss Universe 2022 on 15 January 2023. Amanda Dudamel of Venezuela got second and Andrina Martinez of the Dominican Republic got the third position. On behalf of India, Divita Rai participated in the Miss Universe contest. The event of Miss Universe 2022 was organized in New Orleans city of America.
R’Bonney Gabriel was asked a question in the final round, answering which she won the title as well as the hearts of the jury members. Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu, who was Miss Universe 2021, was crowned the new Miss Universe of the United States as Miss Universe.

America’s R’Bonney Gabriel has been crowned Miss Universe this year. In the last round, she won this crown by defeating the participants Venezuela and the Dominican Republic. This was the 71st competition of the Miss Universe pageant. The competition was organized on Saturday 15 January 2023 in the city of New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, in which about 90 participants took part. Out of these only three contestants could reach the end.
Apart from America, these include Amanda Dudamel of Venezuela and Andrina Martinez of the Dominican Republic. On behalf of India, Divita Rai participated in the Miss Universe contest but she could only reach the top 16. In the last round, only one question was asked to all three contestants. But among them, R’Bonney Gabriel’s answer was liked by the judging panel the most.
Who is R’Bonney Gabriel?
USA’s 28-year-old R’Bonney Gabriel is a model, and fashion designer by profession, who gives priority to the environment in her work. She was born on March 20, 1994, in Houston, Texas and graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Fashion Design.
She had also done modelling for years before joining the Miss Universe contest. She created history in December 2021 as the first Filipino-American to win Miss Texas USA. In October 2022, she won the title of Miss USA pageant.

All the contestants gave their best in the Miss Universe 2022 pageant, showing both their beauty and brains. However, only one was to go home with the Miss Universe 2022 crown. In the end, it came down to the USA’s R’Bonney Gabriel. Her answer to the question: “If you become Miss Universe, how will you work to make it look like a strong and progressive organization? ?” is what got her crowned the Miss Universe 2022. “I want to transform the fashion industry as a leader. Till 13, I worked diligently in fashion designing. So I want to use fashion for good. I use recycled materials and do my part to reduce pollution through fashion.”
Miss Universe 2022 will get all this apart from the diamond crown
- The most beautiful and intelligent woman in the universe is crowned first. The cost of the crown worn by Miss Universe is approximately USD 5.75 million.
- This crown has been named ‘Force for Good’. It is fully hand-crafted with a total of 993 stones. It is furnished with 110.83 carats of blue sapphire and 48.24 carats of white diamond
- Apart from this crown, Miss Universe has also got cash prize money. Not only this, the entire expenses of America’s R’Bonney Gabriel will be borne by the company for a whole year.
- She will also get flat, skin care items, jewellery, shoes, clothes, makeup and hair products in New York for one year.
- She will also get traveling and hotel expenses for one year and these expenses are borne by the organization which organizes the Miss Universe contest.
- A team of photographers will also be provided for Miss Universe. However, in exchange for all these facilities, Miss Universe R’Bonney Gabriel will have to participate in interviews, premieres, events and charity shows.
- Also, the Miss Universe becomes the Chief Ambassador of Miss Universe Organization for a whole year.
